I've been facilitating leadership strategy sessions and all kinds of corporate team meetings for more than 25 years. My toolbox is filled with frameworks and methods that ignite new thinking, spark conversations, engage all participants and develop a plan for moving forward. Leaders often request that I design some fun into the session. I resisted this for years. I didn't see value in some of the superflous teambuilding and game playing. I viewed it as necessary recess time that gave people the break they needed, interjected fun, but without any real gain. After years of requests from leaders to include a lego exercise or something along those lines, I came across Lego Serious Play, and took the leap into a week long certification course. First of all, it was the best Organization Effectiveness course I have ever been too. More importantly, it opened my eyes to tthe power of play.
