Where is Your Team Going?

Understand the impact of the new virtual workplace

Very few of us will be working face to face with our entire team any time soon. At a minimum, team members will be in the office at different times, and some team members will continue to work virtually from home. How do we know the way we are operating is the most effective? Are managers leading virtual teams using the best practices?

This path is new to us all, with no real data to let us know if we are doing this the right way.  We are here to make the case with a research study to review what organizations are doing now and what changes they should make to be successful. Science and data will lead the way to understand the new virtual workplace.

What we know since Covid-19

At this time, there is limited data to support or recommend best practices to teams working virtually. A recent study by Tellus International revealed that 51% of American workers feel less connected to their company culture while working from home. Respondents missed the personal connection with others, specifically:

50Percent

felt the lack of

Separation between work & home

53Percent

missed

Collaborating as a team

57Percent

missed

Interacting with Colleagues

This data demonstrates the impact working virtually has on the connections we all need as human beings. To build on this, we need additional data that will provide insight and direction to teams to continue to be highly effective in the virtual workplace.
